About the Primary Therapist John DeStefano
John is a dedicated Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), actively working towards obtaining his Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification. He holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice, a B.S. in Social Work, and a Master of Social Work degree from Stockton University.
Before embarking on his career in social work, John served in the United States Marine Corps, completing two combat tours in Afghanistan. During his time stateside, he took on various leadership roles, including serving as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge and Substance Abuse Coordination Officer for a battalion of over 800 Marines and civilians.
After his military service, John worked as a Correctional Police Officer for the Ocean County Department of Corrections, retiring in September 2021. With a deep commitment to helping others, John is now focused on developing, maintaining, and operating Quantum’s new Veterans and First Responders (VFR) program. In addition to this, he provides therapeutic services at Quantum’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), where his diverse background and experience make him an asset to the team.
John’s unique blend of military, law enforcement, and social work experience enables him to offer compassionate, informed care to his clients, helping them navigate the challenges they face and achieve their personal goals.
