Drug Rehab That Allows You to Still Go to Work & School
In outpatient drug rehab, you do not need to move into a rehab center day and night. At Quantum, we have several levels of care, each of which offers different services and schedules that can be customized to suit your individual needs. We have partial care (PC) day programs that are full days of treatment, we offer intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) that are several hours a week of treatment on a more flexible schedule, and we have outpatient programs that are an extension of the IOP, but even more, customized to suit your needs as you move forward in life as a sober individual.
During outpatient rehab, you will live at home or in a sober living facility, and come in for therapy, medical care, mental health treatments, group therapy, and other addiction treatments on a set schedule. While an inpatient treatment plan is very structured and intensive, your outpatient program can be more relaxed, providing the treatments you need while you live your life normally the rest of the time. This is an important type of program for people who cannot leave their job, school, family, or other obligations to go to rehab, as you can maintain a normal daily schedule, with treatments in the mornings, evenings, or on weekends.
Benefits of Outpatient Drug Rehab
There are many benefits to attending outpatient drug rehab for many people because it offers:
- Flexible scheduling, so you do not have to interrupt your family life, your job, or your school year, getting the help you need without damaging your career or sacrificing student aid/scholarships
- Access to safe, comfortable, and sober places to live (sober living homes) if you do not have a sober-friendly place to stay during rehab, or if you feel you need a structured environment to return to at night
- The option to continue living at home, with family and friends nearby for support, while also providing your loved ones a sense of relief, as they will not be your only source of support and care
- The freedom to live your life normally, and try out your newly learned recovery strategies in real-life situations (peer pressure, stress, or other triggers and temptations), with full support from professionals and peers in rehab
- Plenty of connections to group therapy, peer support groups, and alumni groups, allowing you to make new sober friends and re-learn how to enjoy life without drugs and alcohol with people who know what you are going through
What To Expect During Outpatient Rehab
At Quantum, we offer outpatient treatment programs for people who are no longer suffering from physical withdrawal symptoms after detoxing, and who have their mental health issues under control. You will live outside of the treatment center, and with the help of our addictions experts, therapists, doctors, and other care providers, your program will be tailored to your needs, not only to help you regain your physical health, but also to address the underlying issues that caused the addiction in the first place through talk therapy, group therapy, holistic treatments, medications, and behavioral therapy sessions. We will provide you with emotional support, and teach you stress reduction and recovery skills that will last a lifetime. Whether it is your first time going to rehab, or if you have been through relapse over and over again, we are here for you with three types of outpatient treatment plans you can move between depending on your comfort level and what is appropriate to your needs. These are:
- The intensive outpatient program
- The partial care program
- The outpatient program
We recognize that because people often work to get sober is to be there for their families, it is important to allow as much family involvement in your treatment as you wish. We will keep your loved ones informed on your progress and provide family information sessions and family therapy. Our team will work with you and your loved ones to create an appropriate treatment plan that suits your medical, behavioral, emotional, physical, and mental health needs.
How Long Does Outpatient Rehab Last With Quantum Behavioral Health?
Outpatient treatment at Quantum is completely based on what you need, so each person’s treatment plan has a unique length. Factors that influence the length of treatment include:
- Which substance(s) you were using and your level of addiction
- Your living situation at the time of treatment and how much support you have at home
- Your physical health, and how much help you need to regain strength and health
- Your mental health, and whether you are beginning a new psychiatric medication
- Your overall comfort level as your treatment progresses
Partial care is 20 hours a week, then when you move into the intensive outpatient program you will go down to 9 hours a week, at the outpatient program is fewer than 9 hours a week total. If you are feeling overwhelmed with life after detox/inpatient rehab, or if you enjoy the strong structure rehab provides, you may wish to spend a longer time in the partial care program than a person who had a mild addiction and is ready to get their life back to normal as quickly as possible. Your individual treatment plan may last for weeks, months, or even years, as you continue working at your own pace, gradually reducing the time you spend in treatment.
You will never be left to fend for yourself in your recovery with Quantum. Even if you decided you are done with treatment, then find yourself in a difficult time months later, you can always return to us for further treatments and therapy.
IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Quantum is 9 hours a week at a minimum of treatment like:
- Individual therapy
- Holistic treatments
- Group therapy
- Doctor’s appointments
- Support groups
- Mental health care
- Medication management
This is an excellent program for those who are feeling ready to return to work or school, and who have their physical and mental health under control enough to live life normally. We offer morning, evening, and weekend options for IOP sessions, so you have the flexibility you need in your schedule to get back to your regular life while still receiving full support several days a week.
After being in the IOP, you may wish to continue treatments in our customizable outpatient program (OP). This way you can remain connected to structure and support but with fewer than 9 hours a week of therapy and treatments. You will have the option of joining 12-step groups in your area, with your treatment plan determined by your comfort level and your progress.
PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program)
The partial care program at Quantum is similar to partial hospitalization programs at other treatment centers, as it is a day program, in which you live at home but come in for full days of treatments. It is 20 hours a week minimum, and it is an excellent choice for those who do not need 24-hour care but still need a high level of support. This is the most rigorous program we offer at Quantum, and you will likely not be able to work a full-time job as you put your recovery first.
Which Outpatient Treatment, IOP or PHP Is Right for Me?
If you are experiencing any withdrawal symptoms, or cravings, or feel overwhelmed at the prospect of returning to normal life, you may wish to start in the partial care program before beginning an IOP. This may also be a good idea if you have a mental health issue or trauma that is still being addressed in therapy, or if you need medical care and medication management for addiction treatment. You will spend a good amount of time per week in the recovery center, with strong support and structure, a good move for anyone who is not ready to jump back into life as a sober individual right away.
On the other hand, if you are ready to get back to work and school, have your mental health under control, and are feeling highly motivated in your recovery with the ability to get to meetings and groups on time on your own, an IOP may be right for you. If you have a stable place to live with friends and family there for support and are involved in 12-step or other peer support groups, even better, as you will only be spending an average of around nine hours a week in treatment at Quantum during the IOP.
Why Choose Quantum Behavioral Health for Intensive Outpatient Treatment or Partial Health Programs:
