Top Rated Prescription Drug Rehab in Princeton
The availability of prescription drug rehab has needed to expand in reaction to the almost two-decade old and still ongoing opioid epidemic in the United States. It would be hard to find even a small municipality across the country that has not had incidents of opioid overdoses, black market prescription opioids for sale, counterfeit synthetic opioids being distributed, or an uptick in the use of heroin. The last issue occurs, including heroin addiction, when people who have become addicted to prescription opioids cannot get the substance they have been taking and have to turn to illicit drugs to fill their need.
No one ever sets out with having to go to alcohol or drug rehab as one of their life goals. Individuals begin abusing drugs and alcohol for many different reasons, and although every instance of substance abuse does not end in tragedy, most people experience some sort of negative effect in their life when they develop substance use disorders. The silver lining for substance abusers and drug addicts living in 2022 is that over the last many years recovery centers like Quantum Behavioral Health have developed dozens and dozens of treatment plans for people who are struggling with alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction, drug abuse, or drug addiction.
At Quantum Behavioral Health we know that everyone needs a specialized approach to their addiction treatment in order to build a firm foundation for their addiction recovery. In some cases, an individual may only need one of our levels of care. In others, a multi-phase continuum of care will help them successfully start on the road to recovery. Whatever the case may be, we are here to help. Call us today at Quantum and one of our highly trained alcohol and drug treatment specialists will walk you through all of our care options.
What Is RX Rehab Like?
Rx or prescription drug addiction is a major problem in the United States. Prescription opioids fall into this category, and other commonly abused substances include alcohol, (powder) cocaine and crack cocaine, heroin, Benzodiazepines and other sedative drugs and Amphetamines like Adderall or crystal meth. One of the major issues regarding drug abuse in general is that people often experiment with or consistently use more than one type of substance. This is done in order to have a different experience, to get a stronger high, or just because an individual is out of control. This almost always leads to much worse problems and it is something that substance abuse treatment professionals can help people unravel.
Rx drug rehab can come in many forms and several different environments. At Quantum Behavioral Health we offer several options for outpatient care. We also coordinate with other treatment centers for clients who need medical detox, medication assisted treatment, or residential inpatient care. Our outpatient options include traditional individual therapy and group sessions (OP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), also referred to as Partial Care (PC). Each one of these levels of care has many treatment plan options that can be developed for patients. Most experts agree that substance abusers and drug addicts who go through different types of therapies during their addiction treatment have better and longer lasting results in recovery. This is another reason why we offer so many options within our levels of care so that we can provide the best mix of alcohol abuse or drug abuse treatment.
What To Expect During RX Rehab
The first step on your alcohol rehab or drug rehab journey is to give us a call. Even if you do not think you are ready to start substance abuse treatment or are not sure if you need formal therapy or counseling, call and talk to one of our exceptional staff members and they will go over the particulars with you. If you are ready to continue, you will begin the administrative intake process. What this boils down to is a series of questions that will help us begin to see how drugs or alcohol are affecting you and in many cases your loved ones, and what types of treatment you may need as part of your overall care plan. Everyone who takes part in Rx rehab for any type of prescription drug will have different goals and milestones we want to help them reach. That is why every treatment plan we develop is unique and is constantly reviewed to assess how well each individual client is progressing.
Once you complete the administrative steps, which we have streamlined to ensure you do not feel overwhelmed as you take your very first steps towards addiction recovery, you will meet the Care Team, a group of amazing professionals dedicated to helping you make recovery a reality. If you have taken part in an inpatient treatment medical detox program prior to beginning your outpatient treatment with us, we will go over the forms of care you received, including any individual therapy or group counseling, so that we can continue to build on the cornerstones you have already put in place. As you begin and continue with the care plan that has been developed for you, your primary therapist will meet with you regularly to ensure things are going well and make any changes that seem appropriate.
How Long Does RX Rehab in Princeton Last?
Rx rehab is not built around a timeline. Both alcohol rehab and drug rehab are meant to help individuals establish the skills, habits, and relapse prevention methods that will allow them to live their day to day life without regular individual therapy or group counseling sessions. How long that takes is up to the individual patient and how long it takes them to reach the goals and milestones they have set for themselves with the help of the drug and alcohol rehab staff.
Some of the recovery programs we offer do have typical time frames, but even these vary from one client to the next. For example, Intensive Outpatient Programs and Partial Hospitalization Programs usually last eight to 12 weeks, but they are still customized for each person under our care. Additionally, an individual may have the amount of therapy they take part in increased and decreased over the time they are taking part in Rx rehab. This can include going into an Intensive Outpatient Program after they are already being treated in a more traditional outpatient treatment plan in order to increase and differ their care for a set period of time.
Top Abused Prescription Drugs
People often ask our counselors about how they could have known one of their loved ones was abusing or addicted to prescription drugs. People who have gotten into a cycle of substance abuse often try to hide their drinking or using or explain it away in one way or another. If you think someone you care about has developed a prescription opioid addiction or is abusing any other medication, here are some signs to look for:
- They try to using drugs alone when at all possible to disguise the frequency
- Lying, stealing, or otherwise acting recklessly while under the influence
- Taking part in risky activities to obtain more of the substance
- Notable tolerance for the substance or needing to take more to get the same effect
- Social activities begin to be all about using
- Avoiding or missing social gatherings, hobbies, and events to use
- Withdrawal symptoms, which will sometimes be explained away as side effects of something else, like a cold or the flu.
- Keeping prescription drugs stashed around the house, workplace, or in their car
- Missing or performing poorly at work, school, and other obligations because of substance use
- Continuing use drugs even when it causes serious health problems, relationship issues, and/or financial troubles
If your loved one has been prescribed Rx drugs for a legitimate reason, and begins to exhibit any of these signs of abuse, they may have developed a drug dependency or drug addiction even while using a medication as directed. This is especially common with synthetic opioids. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), here are some of the top abused prescription drugs, and their categories:
- Opioids—prescribed for pain relief
- Central Nervous System (CNS) depressants—barbiturates and benzodiazepines prescribed for anxiety or sleep problems (often referred to as sedatives or tranquilizers)
- Stimulants—prescribed for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the sleep disorder narcolepsy, or obesity
