About the Director of Substance Abuse Melanie Kellner MSW, LCSW, LCADC
Melanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over a decade of experience in the field. She began her career as an intern in 2010 and has since worked across various levels of care, including residential and outpatient treatment for both adolescents and adults.
Melanie employs a range of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI), tailoring her approach to meet each client’s needs. Having witnessed the impact of addiction firsthand, she brings a deep understanding of the disease and practices empathy and compassion for those who are struggling.
Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Substance Abuse Counseling from Ramapo College and earned her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University, where she participated in the Rutgers Addiction Counseling Training Program. Currently, she is working towards becoming a Certified Clinical Supervisor, further enhancing her skills and capacity to support clients and colleagues alike.
