Prescription Drug Rehab in Newark

Prescription drug addiction has reached an epidemic level in the U.S. Every year, more than 16 million people in the country misuse prescription drugs like opioid painkillers, benzodiazepines, and sedatives. However, drugs like Fentanyl, Adderall, and Xanax can cause profoundly powerful and dangerous addictions when misused. A person who has developed an addiction to RX drugs needs substance abuse treatment just as someone addicted to alcohol or illicit drugs does.

Quantum Behavioral Health is a top-rated addiction treatment provider. Our clients come from Newark, NJ, and other nearby cities and towns to enroll in our treatment programs like partial hospitalization treatment and intensive outpatient programming. Our clinicians also treat clients who have a dual diagnosis, a drug or alcohol addiction as well as a mental health disorder like anxiety or depression.

Quantum’s addiction treatments include evidencebased treatments as well as holistic therapies. The combination of these therapies allows us to treat the whole person–the mind, body, and spirit–and address each aspect of their lives that addiction touches. Some of our addiction treatments include cognitive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention, emotional self regulation, mindfulness, healing through creativity, nutrition, and more. Clients can expect to participate in both one-on-one and group therapy sessions.

At our recovery center, we individualize treatment for our clients. Not all clients will choose to participate in family therapy or need treatment for a cooccurring disorder. During individual therapy sessions, our therapists help clients to manage their unique triggers to abuse drugs or alcohol and provide them with the opportunity to work through issues that have contributed to their substance abuse problems. Our clinicians are caring as well as talented, and our addiction rehab center is safe and welcoming. We are devoted to helping each client end their dependence on drugs and alcohol.

What Is RX Rehab Like?

RX rehab necessarily differs between treatment centers. As a leading Newark addiction treatment center, Quantum offers outpatient care in a safe and welcoming environment. We treat RX, illicit drug, and alcohol addictions here. However, clients live at home or in a sober living facility. Our treatment center does not offer medical detox or inpatient rehab treatment programs; however, many of our network partners in or near Newark do. We can refer clients who need that type of support to those treatment centers.

At Quantum, clients will enroll in one of our three outpatient treatment programs. We offer partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs IOPs, and regular outpatient treatments. Many clients choose to transition from one outpatient treatment program to another as they work their way through their recovery process. Individual therapy is a cornerstone of our care provided. Clients can expect individual support for their RX drug addiction and mental health issue if they have a dual diagnosis.

The type of program a person enrolls in at our treatment facility depends on their support needs. Our partial care program, for example, offers our most robust level of support. Clients will attend outpatient treatments for about 20 hours each week. During their therapy sessions, they’ll focus on various aspects of their substance use disorder, including how to prevent relapse.

What To Expect During RX Rehab

When attending rehab treatments at Quantum, clients can expect to begin their recovery journey in a safe healing environment staffed by experienced medical clinicians and therapists who have devoted their careers to addiction medicine and helping people end their dependence on drugs and alcohol. When enrolling for substance abuse treatment, we’ll help clients choose the ideal treatment program for their needs. We customize each treatment plan to ensure that clients have access to the ideal treatments for them.

During rehab at Quantum, clients will take part in individual therapy sessions and group sessions that are based on many different treatment approaches. We offer conventional therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy along with holistic treatments like art therapy. The recovery process is gradual. It takes time for clients to change unhealthy patterns of thinking and coping with negative emotions. Our therapists help them identify the unhealthy habits that often accompany substance use disorders.

We work with each client to help them develop strategies to manage their triggers to abuse drugs or alcohol. A person who abuses RX drugs may require different approaches than what’s commonly offered in alcoholism treatments, for instance. So, we provide them with the support they need to effectively manage their addiction.

Clients can expect a high degree of support as they work through their treatment plan. We also help clients plan for the future with aftercare planning. Their recovery journey will extend beyond their time at our rehab, so it’s important that they are aware of ongoing support available to them in or near Newark. Clients who have a dual diagnosis often continue with therapy on a long-term basis in order to maintain their recovery progress for both of their conditions.

How Long Does RX Rehab Last?

Prescription drug rehab treatment programs often last anywhere from 30-90 days. Quantum offers multiple levels of care, so after a month of treatment in an intensely supportive program like partial care, clients may be ready to transition to a less intensive program as they grow in stability and ability to manage their triggers. Recovery doesn’t have a set date of completion. It’s a gradual process. Substance use disorders are chronic. That means that clients will need to manage this condition for good. Many clients choose to continue some form of therapy or aftercare on an ongoing basis.

Clients can remain enrolled in a particular treatment program until they reach their treatment milestones. Some people progress through therapy more quickly than others. That’s why we offer individual therapy to ensure that each client’s unique needs are met. A person who began abusing prescription drugs, illicit drugs, or alcoholism as a teen might require more time at a recovery center than someone who has not been involved in substance abuse for as long.

A person who has a cooccurring mental illness like post traumatic stress disorder or bipolar disorder may require more time getting treatment as well because they’re learning how to manage both of their conditions at the same time. A person’s own unique chemistry as well as the type of drug addiction in question can also impact the time frame for their addiction treatment. At our outpatient rehab, clients can get the support they need for as long as they need it. We also assist them with aftercare planning so they can rely on ongoing support if they need it.

Top Abused Prescription Drugs

Opioids, especially opioid painkillers, are the most commonly abused prescription drugs, but certainly not the only abused RX drugs. Someone might begin abusing RX drugs that they were prescribed for legitimate medical reasons or they may have begun to abuse these drugs recreationally, obtaining them in an illicit fashion. Other commonly abused prescription drugs include sedatives and stimulants. Of those addicted to prescription drugs, however, 70% are addicted to prescription painkillers such as morphine, Fentanyl, Hydrocodone, Codeine, or Oxycodone.

People addicted to RX drugs may not confine their abuse to these substances alone, however. It’s not uncommon for people to also abuse alcohol or other addictive substances, especially when they find it difficult to obtain prescription medications. In an attempt to reduce the prescription drug abuse problem, legislators and medical providers have taken measures to reduce prescriptions for commonly abused drugs like opioid painkillers. Unfortunately, this has led many people to turn to street drugs like heroin, which may be easier to obtain. According to statistics, more than 50% of people who abuse heroin also abuse prescription drugs.

Statistics also demonstrate the danger of prescription drug addiction. A person can overdose on these drugs just as they can on street drugs. The threat of overdose is heightened when people abuse alcohol or other drugs with RX drugs. The sooner substance abusers enroll in a treatment program, the sooner they can put their drug or alcohol addiction behind them.

Why Choose Quantum Behavioral Health for RX Rehab

Quantum Behavioral Health has an excellent reputation among Newark RX drug rehabs. We treat clients from many different walks of life. Prescription drug addiction can affect anyone. Often, people aren’t even aware when they begin to abuse these drugs. They may simply take their next dose a bit sooner than they should. Addiction can begin that subtly. Once a person becomes addicted to prescription drugs, it can take over their life and detract from their mental and physical health just as other forms of substance abuse can.

Clients choose Quantum because of our flexible outpatient treatment programs. Outpatient therapy is ideal for clients who don’t need or want to reside in a rehab setting for residential inpatient treatment. Clients who do need that level of care can consult with us because we can refer them to our network partner rehabs in the Newark area. However, clients who want to continue to attend work, school, or maintain other responsibilities often prefer the outpatient treatment format.

If you are struggling with a prescription drug addiction, don’t wait to get the help you need to manage this condition. Contact Quantum Behavioral Health to learn more about our drug rehab in Newark and treatment options.
